It's hard to believe it has been over 18 years since our company was founded. It seems like only yesterday that we were selecting the parts and materials for our first MAYA collars and leashes on Wrightsville Beach. As dog owners in 1989 it was difficult if not impossible to find innovative, fun and creative products for our pets. At that time pet stores had a limited offering of products that consisted of solid color collars and leashes and a few basic toys.

We saw this limited offering as an opportunity and decided to produce our own top quality, colorful and exciting alternatives to the basic collars and leashes. From this simple concept we created the original MAYA line of collars and leashes. The unique material we chose was handwoven and brightly colored with exclusive patterns and images. We combined unsurpassed quality and workmanship with the finest modern hardware and materials available, to create collars and leashes unlike any other on the market.

Our company has long out grown its humble beginnings, but we continue to build on the simple philosophy that founded our company. This creative philosophy is not only reflected in the products we make but in our business policies as well.
